Today (January 11th) is National Vision Board Day and I couldn’t think of a better time to share my own vision board. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now and finally dedicated some time into getting it done. Normally, I would just write down my goals and resolutions for the new year on a piece of paper or type them in my notes but I found myself forgetting them within a few weeks. 2020 is a big year (also an entirely new decade!) so I wanted to create a vision board for the year so I can see my goals everyday and reflect on my progress throughout the year.
My 1st Attempt at a Vision Board Party
I attended my first vision board party in December 2019 and it was a great experience. I’ll share below what I was able to create from that session using the magazine and tools provided.
While this collage captured some key interests for me, I did not find it as inspiring and esthetically pleasing as I’d hoped it would be. I began to research on Youtube how vision boards were created and stumbled across Erin on Demand’s Not Your Average Vision Board 2019 video which I really loved [highly recommend checking it out]! Her method resonated with me because it was more personal, clean and simple. I knew I wanted to try this approach and see where my own creative flow takes me. That being said I present to you MY VISION BOARD 2020! 😀
My Vision Board 2020!
I more or less followed Erin’s method completely so I recommend checking out her video for detailed instructions. The only change was using a canvas instead of a picture frame. Bottom line – I loveeeee my creation! I’m excited to hang this on my wall and start waking up to my aspirations! Here’s a brief breakdown on what’s on it:
- Focus: This is my personal keyword for 2020. Below I added some quotes and bible verses that represent what this means for me.
- Personal: This was my biggest section (no surprise). In this section, I included a pictures of my relationship, future travel destinations and a home.
- Health: I really want to take better care of my body. My three photos represent yoga, running and green smoothies (healthy eating at its best).
- Side Hustles: I added two of my favorite blog pictures from 2019 as an inspiration to keep pushing in 2020. Also, the Bey I Hungry logo is on there (check us out if you haven’t already)!
Comment below your thoughts and if you did a vision board this year. I’m hoping to do a recap post at the end of the year to reflect on what came true. Thank you for reading and talk to you soon!
