It’s only July and 2020 has exhausted most of us on every level. BUT we are still here so we got to keep going! That being said, air travel is starting to become a possibility again and I thought it would be fun to share a list of summer travel essentials for our next flight or staycation. I’ll definitely be using this list in the future so I miss anything important while I’m packing during these uncertain times.
Summertime is always the best of what might be.

- A mask: Bottom line – we need it. We can’t afford to add to the case numbers people. Mask on is mandatory.
- Hand sanitizer/Sanitizing wipes – This was essential from before COVID-19 was even a thing but I digress. Point is, when we can’t wash our hands we should have a hand sanitizer ready to go.
- A mental ruler for six feet: In case all fails, just take an extra step back.
- Libations (aka Rum) – You deserve at least 12 mojitos. It’s 2020 – we all get it. It’s been a hard year for us all.
- A credit card/debit card: Cash is a dirty transaction (lol). Cards are just way easier to sanitize after use. Plus, a lot of places are preferring card payments as they’re touchless and hassle-free. Make sure you have something ready to swipe just in case.
- Sunscreen: Summer has just started and this Bahamian sun has come for my life at least twice a week. This thing in the sky is hot and we need to protect our skin. SPF 50 is my go-to number. I’m also looking into buying Black Girl Sunscreen soon – Support black-owned businesses!
- Sunglasses: Once again, this sun can be disrespectful and your eyes don’t need that direct heat. Check out my favorite sunnies from Amazon right here. Two cute sunnies for $20 – you really can’t beat it.
- Travel-Sized Beauty: I did a full product review of The Black Travel Box’s starter box. You better believe I’m carrying these products on every mini excursion outside my house. They smell too good!
Those are my summer travel essentials! What’s on your list?
