The beaches are finally open y’all (tearful moment)! After a LONG LONG few months, the beach is a thing again. I wanted to share my happiness and relief with you guys today!
I did vlog my journey to saltwater city so be sure to check out it out below!
Lessons I learned from being ocean-water deprived:
- It’s the little things. – I would pass the beach almost every week driving to and from work and think nothing of it. I would always think to myself “I should go to the beach this weekend.” but then the weekend would pass and I would never make it. It wasn’t until it was taken away from me as an option that I yearned for it. Life is so funny huh?
- Count your blessings! – Some people save up and spend some serious coins vacationing in The Bahamas, a place I call home. Sometimes, I forget how blessed and fortunate I am to be born in such a beautiful country. The Bahamas is far from perfect but we’re surrounded by the most beautiful waters. This summer, I plan to complain and swim more!
- The ocean needed a break from us too. – No joke! The waters were so clear and clean that day. I truly feel as though the ocean needed a reset from humans constantly running through it. I dived underneath and the saltwater hurt my eyes a little less than I remember. There was even less seaweed! Maybe it’s just me but the waters feel brand new.
- Sand gets everywhere! – Seriously, sand has zero respect for personal boundaries. Worth it though.
Thank you for reading and being apart of this experience with me! What’s in your backyard – may be a lake, mountain, beach, or pool?
